Chief Minister launches ‘Yuva Nestham’ website

Aim is to achieve empowerment, says Naidu..


Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday launched Mukhyamantri Yuva Nestham websitewww.yuvanestham.ap. gov.inat Praja Vedika. Under the new scheme, the government will provide unemployment dole of Rs. 1,000 each per month to over 10 lakh unemployed youth in the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Naidu said Yuva Nestham aimed at fulfilling ambitions of youth. It was about convergence of skill development, self-employment and apprenticeship to achieve youth empowerment. Through this job portal, the State would train youth and find placements for them.

The Chief Minister said youth in the 20-30 age group would be brought on a single platform and trained as a force to reckon with. He asked universities to establish data bank of graduates and post-graduates and concentrate on their education and placements. He pointed out that youth from A.P. were earning the highest per capita income in the Silicon Valley. He wanted young people to focus on innovation. Urging them to utilise the vast knowledge sources, he said they could do wonders by fusing it with the available information technology.

Minister for IT and Panchayat Raj Nara Lokesh said over 10 lakh unemployed youth would benefit from the scheme, which would “emerge as an ideal scheme in the country.”

He said the unemployment dole scheme was introduced in 10 States but was dropped after some time in four States. At present, the scheme was being implemented in six States with disbursal of Rs. 500 to each beneficiary. He said the State would incur an expenditure of Rs. 1,200 crore per annum for implementation of this programme.
